Quick & easy flower brooch – FREE Crochet Pattern

I created this free brooch crochet pattern because spring is here, and crochet time is more limited now. If you're looking for a quick project, this cute flower brooch is perfect! You can use it as a decoration on your scarf or bag to add a touch of color to the season. The best part? You can crochet it in just one hour! It’s a super easy and quick project to make. Enjoy

Materials and supplies

  • Catania (100% mercerized cotton, 50g/125m): leftover yarns in yellow, light and dark pink, dark green

  • Materials: stuffing, needle, scissors, thread

  • Hook size: 2.5 mm

Abbreviations

  • sc – single crochet

  • inc – increase

  • dec – decrease

  • BLO – back loop only

Flower brooch crochet pattern

Start: make a magic ring with yellow yarn.

1. 6 sc into the magic ring (6)

2. (sc, inc)*6 (12)

3. (sc, inc)*6 (18)

4-5. sc into every sts across (18) (2 rounds)

6. (sc, dec)*6 (12)

Lightly stuff the flower. Change color to light pink, join the yarn into the first loop of the next st.

7. FLO inc*12 (24)

8-12. sc into every sts across (24) (5 rounds)

13. dec*12 (12)

Crochet the next round together with the free loops left in round 6.

14. 1 sc through both loops in each stitch (12)

15. FLO (sc, inc)*6 (18)

16. (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)

Change color to dark pink.

17. FLO (sc, inc)*12 (36)

18-22. sc into every sts across (36) (5 rounds)

23. (sc, dec)*12 (24)

Crochet the next round together with the free loops left in round 16.

24. sc into every sts across (24)

25. dec*8 (8)

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

LEAVES - make two pieces -

Start: make a magic ring with dark green yarn.

1. 6 sc into the magic ring (6)

2. (2 sc, inc)*2 (8)

3. sc into every sts across (8)

4. (3 sc, inc)*2 (10)

5. (2 sc, inc, 2 sc)*2 (12)

6-7. sc into every sts across (12) (2 rounds)

8. dec*6 (6)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Sew the leaves onto the edge of the flower, then after sewing one leaf, lead the yarn to the center and sew on a brooch pin.
