sc - single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
dec- decrease
inc - increase

Rattle base
Start: crochet with off-white yarn:
ch 72, sl st to the first stitch to form a ring, ch 1, and:
1. sc into every sts across (72)
2. (11 sc, inc)*6 (78)
3. 6 sc, inc, (12 sc, inc)*5, 6 sc (84)
4. (13 sc, inc)*6 (90)
5. 7 sc, inc, (14 sc, inc)*5, 7 sc (96)
6. (15 sc, inc)*6 (102)
7-8. sc into every sts across (102) (2 rounds)
9. sc into the next 51 sts, BLO sc into the next 51 sts (102)
10-11. sc into every sts across (102) (2 rounds)
12. (15 sc, dec)*6 (96)
13. 7 sc, dec, (14 sc, dec)*5, 7 sc (90)
14. (13 sc, dec)*6 (84)
15. 6 sc, dec, (12 sc, dec)*5, 6 sc (78)
16. (11 sc, dec)*6 (72)
17. sc into every sts across (72)
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Attach the gradient yarn to the first unworked front loop of round 8, ch 1, then:
1. (2 sc, ch 35, turn, work into the second chain from the hook: inc*34)*17
Cut the yarn and weave in the end.
Sew the two edges of the teething ring together, stuffing as you go.
